Alcohol Use Disorder

Alcohol use disorder isn’t a drinking problem.  It’s a thinking problem. Even after a stretch of abstinence, you think . . . “I should celebrate–with a drink!” or “The only way to prove I don’t have a problem is to drink in moderation.”

Am I right?

Alcohol isn’t the problem. Sobriety isn’t the solutionI’ll take you upstream to the source of your cravings. To unlearn what you think you know. Alcohol does not make life better or easier. You’re not happier, smarter or more relaxed because you drink.

Common sense—not willpower—keeps us safe. We wear seat belts and sunscreen. Carefully handle sharp knives, blind curves and erratic people. Avoid stepping in metaphorical and actual dog shit.

Alcohol use disorder affects all habits and beliefs. How you do one thing is how you do everything. “It’s not that big of a deal.” “I can’t handle this today.” “I just need to try harder.” These thoughts create your reality. Welcome to Groundhog Day.

Reprogramming your mind takes time. Guidance. Accountability. But if you do this right, you’ll never have to do it again.

Let me help. I got you.
